JAGRAN

In 1975, Jagran Prakashan (or JPL) was being incorporated and had the business interests in the areas of outdoor, newspapers, internet, magazines, below the line marketing solutions, and mobile value-added services. It also publishes Dainik Jagran, which is a Hindi daily newspaper. Dainik Jagran that launched its first edition in 1942 in Jhansi and is also the brainchild of late Puran Chand Gupta.

The newspaper was launched with the purpose of reflecting the free voice of the people. And in the year 1947, its second edition was launched in Kanpur. In 1953–56, the company also established its third and fourth edition in both Rewa and Bhopal. In the coming years, it expanded its edition network.

Currently, it operates via 37 editions from Agra, Bareilly, Aligarh, Moradabad, Dehradun, Haldwani, Dharamshala, Hisar, Bhopal, Gorakhpur, Jammu, Jhansi, Panipat, Kanpur, Lucknow, New Delhi, Allahabad, Varanasi, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Siliguri, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, and Meerut. It also has its presence in about 11 states such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Its publication covers a wide spectrum of subjects such as sports, economics, spirituality, health, literature, kids, and supplements that include film, education, travel, entertainment, and career. It also prints Sakhi, which mainly targets the women readers; Jagran Varshiki, which is an annual general knowledge digest; Junior Jagran is also an example of such a product that is created by children; I Next is India's first bilingual Hindi daily that targets the youth and several national and state statistical compilations. It also publishes City Plus, which is a weekly English tabloid that targets urban readers.

Jagran Pehel, which is an initiative that focuses on creating awareness as well as advocating for social issues. Also, being a social marketing arm of JPL, it partnered, along with UNFPA, USAID PSP-One, The World Bank, Breakthrough, UNDP–TAHA, and Helpage India, and more.

J9 Ventures, which is a business division of JPL is being engaged in the business of WAP, Web, and text-based value-added services, platforms, products, and solutions for both consumers as well as corporate customers.
