In 1970, Hatsun Agro Product Limited that is based in South India was being incorporated, and R.G.Chandramogan is the founder of the Hatun Agro Product Limited company. Soon, it started marketing fresh milk in pouches from the year 1993 and manufacturing dairy ingredients since 2003. It is also located at 5–A, Vijayaraghava road, T.Nagar, Chennai - 600 017 Tamilnadu, India.

The Company is the largest private-sector dairy company in India, and hence, it has a distinct advantage of dealing with cow's milk. In 1970, the company started with the pioneering effort for producing Arun ice cream, which continues to be the most popular ice cream brand in South India.

It also procured about 1.65 million liters of liquid milk per day by directly collecting it from numerous farmers spread over 4500 villages in south India. It has its infrastructure for the milk collection center and chilling center for procuring and handling of the raw milk. Over 350 field staff are being employed to ensure the timely collection, milk testing at the point of collection, weekly payment; and cattle feed sales, motivating farmers to grow their herd size, animal insurance, bank loans, training farmers on better animal management as well as clean milking. The Company has high–tech processing plants that operate in at least 7 locations.

It is the only company in India using Bactofuge Technology (from the West Falia-Germany) to clarify the liquid milk.

In 2012, it started selling a new range of Ice Creams under the Brand name ''IBACO.''

In 2013, the company acquired Jyothi Dairy for INR 65 crore.
